A view west from the east jetty up the slope to Lochleven Castle. The covered ruins seen in the ground to the right of the curtain wall was initially a bakery and maybe a gardeners house. The whole area north (right side) was originally enclosed within a curtain wall and included a large garden. Records mention Queen Mary while imprisoned on the island 1867-68 took excercise with menmbers of her ‘hosts’ the Douglas family.
